White Sox Rumors: John Danks Not Worrying About…

Read More: John Danks (P – CWS), Chicago White Sox

White Sox lefthander John Danks’ name has come up a lot in various trade rumors this offseason as general manager Ken Williams is actively shopping a number of players on his roster in an effort to remake the team. But Danks hasn’t been sent anywhere yet, and he told the Sun-Times‘ Joe Cowley in an interview that he’s “not losing an ounce of sleep” over the situation. He’s also heard about the king’s ransom Williams has been asking teams in return for Danks:

“More than anything, this is the business of baseball,’’ Danks said. “I don’t blame Kenny for trying to get as much as he can. I took that as him being early in the process. I took it as him throwing feelers out there.’’

It’s still possible for Danks to stay in Chicago for the long term, though he says the White Sox have yet to get serious about a contract extension.

It’s one thing to find an unwelcome house guest at your door. It’s a whole other thing when you walk through your door and find someone else living in your home.Chicago White Sox General Manager Kenny Williams said that’s what happened to him when he returned from a trip to find an intruder living in his high-end townhouse, The Chicago Sun-Times reported.According to the publication, Williams was away for a few days and returned to his Chicago home to discover that someone had been sleeping in his bed and eating his food. The long-time Major League Baseball GM then called police after confirming with family members that no one had visited the home. While Chicago police were at the scene, a man in a fur coat was spotted looking through a window and was questioned by officers. Police: Man burglarized Chisox GM’s home

Published: Nov. 22, 2011 at 6:52 PM

CHICAGO, Nov. 22 (UPI) — A homeless man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into the townhouse of Chicago White Sox General Manager Kenny Williams, police said Tuesday.

Authorities charged Wayne Field III with entering Williams’ home near Chicago’s Grant Park during the weekend and drinking beer, eating pizza and defrosting a lobster while inside, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Police also accused Fields of dressing in Williams’ clothes and leaving the home with his 2005 World Series championship ring.

The 51-year-old suspect was arrested Monday evening when he allegedly returned to the home and was seen peeking inside, the newspaper said.

Police said Field, who was identified through a hospital bracelet left behind in the townhouse, was still wearing Williams’ fur, jeans and sweatshirt when arrested.

He was charged with residential burglary after giving his address as a homeless shelter and was being held on $100,000 bond, the Tribune reported.

Man accused of breaking into WSox GM’s house

FILE- This Sept. 27, 2011 file photo shows Chicago White Sox’s general manager Kenny Williams talking to reporters before a baseball game in Chicago. Authorities say a homeless man broke into Williams’ downtown townhouse, had a bite to eat and drank a beer before he left wearing Williams’ clothes and his World Series ring.

A homeless man was arrested after he allegedly broke into the home of Chicago White Sox general manager Kenny Williams, drank some beer, made himself a pizza and even started to defrost a lobster before leaving wearing Williams’ clothes and his World Series ring.
A Cook County judge on Tuesday ordered 51-year-old Wayne Field III held in lieu of $100,000 on a felony charge of residential burglary.
Williams discovered the burglary of his townhouse in downtown Chicago when he returned from a trip Monday night. He saw beer bottles strewn about the house, frozen lobster that had been partially defrosted on a kitchen counter and the oven was still warm, a person with direct knowledge of what happened told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized by Williams to discuss the incident.
Not only that, but Williams’ bed was crumpled, as if someone had been on it.
“It was like Goldilocks,” said the person.
Police responding to the burglary spotted Field looking into the house from outside, said Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office. Field told police his name, which matched the name on a hospital wristband found inside Williams’ home. As police were questioning Field further, Williams told them that Field was wearing some of his clothes.
Field told police that he had broken into the house over the weekend, Conklin said. After he was handcuffed, Williams realized that a watch and his 2005 World Series ring were missing, the person told the AP.
Williams “looks at the guy and says, ‘Where is my ring?’” said the person, adding that the man turned around and showed Williams his handcuffed hands and the ring on one of his fingers.
Williams retrieved his ring and watch, but no longer wanted his clothes that Field was wearing, the person said.
Conklin said he believed that Field was represented by a public defender. The public defender’s office could not immediately confirm that one of its attorneys represented Field during the hearing.

Gotta run!.
